Fabrication of plasma-reduced silver coupled with titanium dioxide nanoparticles for visible light-driven photocatalysis

The photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide (TiO2) was improved by forming a matrix containing silver (Ag) nanoparticles (NPs) prepared plasma process. plasma-assisted reduction process successfully formed metallic Ag on the surface TiO2 NP to create Ag-TiO2 Janus heterostructure. synthesized NPs were characterized using Brunauer, Emmett, and Teller analysis, transmission electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction spectroscopy, photoelectron Raman UV-vis spectroscopy. Photocatalytic dye decomposition experiments revealed up 96% methylene blue removal after 4 h visible light irradiation, fivefold increase in efficiency compared only.
